In most cases, a good antenna will be all that is required. The NanoP25RX has an on-board tracking filter that provides pre-selection on the front-end for several bands from VHF to UHF. The high dynamic-range of the 12-bit ADC combined with the new IF section allows fixed-gain settings of the front-end to cover very hot signals to very weak signals without an AGC controlling the gain. No more messing with gain settings!
